Methodology and sources
The calculator applies Texas Family Code sections 154.125 (percentages), 154.126 (above the cap), 154.062 (net resources) and 154.128 (children in other households) to the paying parent's net resources.
The statute does not state the cap. $11,700 a month (effective Sept 1, 2025) comes from the Attorney General's notice in the Texas Register.
Known limitations
- Cases above the cap with children in other households are unverified.
- Cash medical support is not calculated.
- Courts may depart from the guideline. This tool shows the presumptive amount only.
